The Sunday scramble started as just a ‘cars and coffee’ get together in 2014. Four years on, The Sunday Scramble is an event known nationally attracting enthusiasts from all over the UK and offers the opportunity to explore the former RAF Bicester base, the restored wartime buildings and businesses based there.
Three years on and the Sunday Scramble is an event of national repute, attracting enthusiasts from across the UK and Europe, offering the opportunity to explore the former RAF Bicester base, the restored wartime buildings and the specialists businesses based there.
There were 5,000 visitors at Bicester Heritage for 2017’s ‘Drive It Day’ Scramble. And it is easy to see why. There were cars of all makes and models, classic cars, classic sports cars, homologation specials and supercars. There were car clubs aplenty, I even spotted the Honda Insight owners club! A club for Honda Insight owners? There were vintage biplanes, tanks and I even saw an original Willys army jeep, THE original go-anywhere vehicle and the spiritual ancestor of every off-road vehicle today.

Nice photos and write up.
My first car event in the U.K. ( probably my first car event ever ) it’s one every car enthusiast should attend. I spotted a Sunbeam Alpine and had a chat with its owner.
My 2 regrets from the show are
1) Getting there in the afternoon, which was a bit late.
2) Not taking any pics of cars on display !!!!
Will try and attend every year.
yep..Even I got there late. Next time i’ll be there from 10am at the latest. The next event is in October.
Very Interesting ……
I have been to a few car events in the past namely supercar event in brands hatch .. the British GT event and donnington car festival, i need to pencil this event in my to do list
It is a worthwhile event. There is a bit of everything, cars, planes and military vehicles. Well worth the £6 entry fee. The next one is in october
Nice write up but you missed the a very important car too bro, the mighty and Super ultra rare s38 b38 e34 m5 Nürburgring spec of which only 343 were hand built between 12/91 and 06/1995 and that particular car being one of 12 in UK. With battle scars and patina buy rarer than most of the shinny machinery on the day. How could you miss that!!! Sacrilege ?
Lol! True!
Just fooling around????. Good day out there though ??
