The Sunday scramble started as just a ‘cars and coffee’ get together in 2014. Four years on, The Sunday Scramble is an event known nationally attracting enthusiasts from all over the UK and offers the opportunity to explore the former RAF Bicester base, the restored wartime buildings and businesses based there.

Three years on and the Sunday Scramble is an event of national repute, attracting enthusiasts from across the UK and Europe, offering the opportunity to explore the former RAF Bicester base, the restored wartime buildings and the specialists businesses based there.

There were 5,000 visitors  at Bicester Heritage for 2017’s ‘Drive It Day’ Scramble. And it is easy to see why. There were cars of all makes and models, classic cars, classic sports cars, homologation specials and supercars. There were car clubs aplenty, I even spotted the Honda Insight owners club! A club for Honda Insight owners? There were vintage biplanes, tanks and I even saw an original Willys army jeep, THE original go-anywhere vehicle and the spiritual ancestor of every off-road vehicle today.
